My
Big cuddly Lana bear!
Lana was never going to be a show dog but that was fine with her, she and her brother & best friend Storm were much happier being at home enjoying each others company and guarding the place from foxes. Like most Belgians they loved the water and when they were younger we used to take them swimming in the river, which they just loved.
In December of 1999 Lana had a grass seed that had lodged in her lung, (probably inhaled) which became infected. Complications included swelling of the limbs Hypertrophic Osteopathy (HO) - after an operation to remove the grass seed and part of her lung she made a full recovery. We are very gratefull to Mark Foley, Monash Vet Clinic
After the loss of her brother and best friend Storm in 2005, we were concerned that Lana would fret, but she coped very well.
The last few years Lana has slowed down quite a bit, she has a fair bit of arthritis (especially in her left front leg), fortunately the warmer weather has helped her to move around a bit more, but she spends most of her day resting in my bedroom.
March 2008 - Goodbye my precious girl, love you always.....
