Lumineux Burn For You

Flame, my special girl & doggy soulmate, I knew she would live here with me from the moment she was born. Flame was from an inter-variety mating between "Ebony" Ch Nairam High Light (Groen) and "Luke" Ch Belwarra Holy Smoke (Terv). Ebony was my first Belgian and it was her devoted and loving nature which made me fall in love with the breed (thanks Marian, for my Ebby). Luke was an absolutely stunning grey Tervueren that was bred and owned by Jan Carroll (who became one of my best friends). Luke sadly passed away just days after Flame and her brothers and sister were born.

There just aren't words to describe how much I'll miss you, my special girl, love you always.

OLD DOG IN A LOCKET

Old dog in a locket
That lays next to my heart
I will always love you
As I did right from the start.

You were right beside me
Through the darkest of my days
It was your kind and gentle nature
That made me want to stay.

Now I hold you in my arms
Your breath still warm against my hand
Our hearts still beat together
And I wonder if you understand.

Through the hours that I held you
Before the light did leave your soul
I knew a way to keep you
Forever in my hold.

I snipped the hair from around your eyes
So I would always see
The beauty that surrounds me
Even in times of need.

I snipped the hair from around your ears
So I would always hear
Music in the distance
To quiet any fears.

I snipped the hair from across your back
To bring me strength in time of need
And that the power of your essence
Would always be with me.

I snipped the hair from around your heart
That beat in time with mine
So love would know to find me
At some other distant time.

And so, your life slipped out of mine
On a quiet spring like day
But I knew that a part of you
Was always here to stay.

Angel In The Sky

There is a star in Heaven
and on it is a place,
that's been reserved for you since birth
a place meant for your name.

This star has watched you through the years
but it could not stand alone,
it rested high on angel wings
awaiting your trip home.

You slipped away, I held you close,
your soul flowed through my heart,
I felt your last breath through my tears
I felt your pain depart.

Tonight I looked up to the sky
and there for me to view
was one lone star shining bright
your name was shining too.

You were my angel on this earth,
you're my angel in the sky.
Wait for me, someday you'll see
our names shine side by side.
