How
it all began
My
introduction to the Belgian Shepherd was in 1986 when I
attended a dog show especially to see some Belgians
"In the fur". There were both Groenendael and
Tervueren present, but it was the Beautiful black
Groenendaels that caught my eye. I fell in love with two
girls in particular "Belle" Ch Peaties Black
Brooke CDX and "Dusty" Ch Nairam Star Dust CD.
It was some months later that I learned "Dusty's"
mother "Tempest" Ch Belwarra Elissa CD was
having a litter, so, after contacting her owner Marian,
in June of 1987 I became the besotted owner of my own
gorgeous fluffy black bundle, which I named Ebony (Ch
Nairam High Light). Thus began my love for this beautiful
breed.
It
was Ebony, the High Light of
my life, that was the inspiration for my prefix LUMINEUX
- pronounced "Loom in oh" (meaning luminous,
brilliant).

My dogs are
much loved members of the family,
they like to be inside when I am and will lounge around
on any available chair or bed, being the active breed
they are they, they also like their time outside where
they can have a good run and play.
Whilst I don't
show as much as I used to, I try to get to as many
Belgian Shepherd Specialty shows as I can with Breed
Specialist Judges from overseas, (these are Champoinship
shows held by the Belgian Shepherd clubs in Victoria NSW
& Qld). I also take part in as many pet expo's, dog
walks and other activities as I can in order to do my
part to promote this lovely breed and have the Belgian
Shepherd Dog recognized and appreciated for the
intelligent and loving companions they are. Over the
years, along with some good friends, I've organised fun
days and dog walks to enable our puppy owners, other
Belgian Shepherd owners and anyone interested in the
breed, to get together and share their love of this
beautiful and loyal breed.
I am dedicated
to producing Belgian Shepherds which are sound in mind
and body and able to share long and happy lives with
their new families. Whether they're destined for the show
ring, performance or beloved family companions, our
puppies are only available
to genuine and caring "Dog Lovers" wanting a
Belgian Shepherd as a lifelong companion. When choosing
dogs for breeding, much care is taken to select dogs of
excellent characters, in excellent health that have been
Hip and Elbow x-rayed/scored and are Eye tested and
certified "Clear of Inherited Eye Disease".
We
love to hear from our puppy owners and are always
available for questions. We will also look after any
Belgian we have bred (or for that matter any Belgian)
when their owners go on holiday.
Thank you for dropping by!
