Uzzi the gorgeous red boy from Belgium came to live with us in August 2003, imported and previously owned by K Clarke & G Sharko, he was from a litter of 4 (his Dam's only litter). Uzzi was a confident dog who had no hesitation in guarding our property, but he also had a soft side and liked to play with his balls and soft toys, his favourite being a Koala, which he claimed as his own. He was the protector of our chickens and along with best friend Shandy , was often seen lying sound asleep with them all around him. He he also liked our cats and they would twine themselves through his legs and curl up nearby for a sleep. Uzzi and Shandy shared the yard behind our house when I wasn't home, because of the epilepsy it was safer for him if he wasn't with the other dogs and she would never hurt him if he happened to seizure when I wasn't there. 
Update August 2005, Uzzi has been with us for 2 years now, it's hard to believe he hasn't lived here all his life, he's such a cuddly and loving boy.

Since coming to live with us Uzzi went to two Specialty shows -

the Victorian Belgian Specialty Show in November 2003 under breed specialist Dr G Schaffner (Frn) where he was 2nd Excellent Open dog class, at two months away from his seventh birthday and the

Victorian Belgian Specialty Show and in November 2005 under Ms M Vermeire (Belgium)
he was 1st Veteran class and Graded Excellent at almost 9 years of age, he enjoyed this his last show.

Progeny.

Due to the late onset of seizures (at six years old), Uzzi's previous owner withdrew him from stud, but PRIOR to his known seizure status, he sired some very beautiful and clever dogs (see info below), some of which can still be seen in the showring today.
Uzzi has two known seizuring offspring from our breeding (with another suspected), having witnessed Uzzi's Grand mal Seizures and taking into account the severity of those of his progeny, we chose not to breed on with his progeny.
Note: We are unaware of the seizure status of his progeny from other kennels.

Bred to our Groenendael Lumineux Hearts on Fire he Sired our "Heart" Litter born 17th April 2002 - which produced Groenendael and Tervueren pups of excellent character including the clever Tervueren "Willow" Dual Ch (T) Lumineux Wild Heart CDX, he has also sired litters for Allusion, Erlander & La Barique (K Clarke) kennels in Australia.
His titled progeny include Australian Champions, Tracking Dog Excellent, Companion Dog Excellent (Obedience). HIT (Herding Instinct) and ET (Endurance Tittle) dogs.

July 2009, We are pleased to say Uzzi has been seizure free (to the best of our knowledge) since starting his epilepsy medication in May 2005.

Feb 2010
On the 3rd Jan 2010 we came home from a show to find Uzzi had what we believe was a Vestibular attack (Old dog vestibular disease) the signs being - head tilt, nystagmus (eyes continually drifting from side to side), ataxia (lack of coordination, stumbling and staggering around) and falling to one side.
Because Uzzi was taking longer than I thought he should to recover we took him back to the vet on Friday 29th Jan and after almost two weeks of taking cortisone medication he was showing improvement, in particular the weekend of the 6th and 7th and Monday 8th, so it was a shock to find Uzzi had passed away in his sleep during the early hours of the morning on Tuesday 9th.
